The Ugly Truth
The second trek into the world of new movies came with The Ugly Truth. I'm going to sound like a broken record, but come-on! Katherine Heigl, Gerald Butler, and a romantic comedy?! How can this possibly be bad? IT WAS HISTERICAL! So awkward, so raunchy, totally predictable, but I really couldn't care less! I laughed. literally, for an hour and a half. Tell me that's not escapism! I forgot all about the problems in my life, let alone the world, from the time the opening credits rolled. This will definitely be a DVD keeper. If you need some more laughs, check this movie out!
The Proposal
My quest to give myself some Me Time began with watching The Proposal. Can I tell you that this movie was absolutely hilarious?! Look, it was formulaic - a romantic comedy - we all know how these types of movies are. But whether it was standard or not, the acting was believable and frankly laugh out loud funny. I'll watch anything with Sandra Bullock in it, and Ryan Reynolds - um HELLO! The storyline was great. Really, Canada??? Who would've thunk it! I knew what was going to happen, but I didn't care. This was a great first outing and an enjoyable escape from reality. If you have a chance, and feel like laughing at awkward moments, give this movie a try.
